TRNA is an incredible 3-piece from Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation that creates dark fierce, powerfully evocative and overwhelming music like the destructive beauty of nature. TRNA’s incessant and untamed fury soars in ethereal dreamscapes and awakens the phoenix in us all.
There are those who believe that time is a flat circle. Everything we’ve ever done or will do, we are going to do over and over and over again. We are reborn, but into the same life that we’ve always been born into. What if life is nothing more than a film that just keeps getting replayed and there is no chance to switch roles. Maybe all that is reserved for us is one glorious momentous occasion.
Indeed, there are moments when we see life as a series of inevitable, predetermined events that have been thrust upon us. Our dreams of happiness and memories of when we once felt calm, peaceful and untroubled, sunken by disquieting and oppressive thoughts in the aftermath of failure. We brood over our past mistakes, feel powerless to change them and at some point, this never-ending struggle to shape our lives leads us to accept our destiny.
Death is a process not unlike birth. There are signs when it starts to begin. Our waning memory, the lack of clarity and familiarity with our surroundings, the endless spine-chilling hours of sleep no longer adorned by grandiose dreams but sorrowful regret.
We need to have a firmer grip on life. We need to lose the frail self-image that torments our minds and breeds conflict, anxiety and fear. We need to quash the trivialities that terrorize and defeat us by incessantly eating us up inside. We and we alone are responsible for deciding what kind of life we want to live. Is it to be one where we are fully engaged or one where we completely resign and allow ourselves to naturally decay.
No matter how chaotic and imperfect our circumstances may be, we have the choice to let go and open ourselves to a truly unique experience. Life is a privilege to be enjoyed during every waking hour. This world that has allowed us to evolve is full of wonders, some rare and unexpected and so many within touching distance. The opportunities to experience pleasure in this life are endless. Lose yourself to find peace.
“You must hear this album, and you must lose yourself in it. Give in to the storm, and be swept away by its beautifully violent soundscapes”. – Aaron Edwards, Arctic Drones
“With an astounding breath that overlooks simplicity, and a far reaching scale of solid technical proficiency, Trna, on these two tracks, manages to reach the unbelievable: a sonorous monumental configuration of ethereal polyphony, that underlies within an abyss of harmonic conjectures a reverberation of diluted rhythms, anxious to retain, preserve, reinvent and dilacerate the logics of traditional post-rock”. – Wagner, Merchants Of Air
